Claude Desktop integration

Bring your working notes into a Claude conversation.

Connect Claude Desktop or claude.ai to the notes you maintain in Docblock. Let the client retrieve project context from a shared workspace and choose how it may contribute back.

01

Read the current source

Ask Claude to search for a decision or read a project note rather than pasting a new copy into every conversation.

02

Choose the connection’s access

Use browser sign-in for a custom connector and approve the workspaces and permissions. Select read access or allow supported proposed or direct changes.

03

Keep contributions reviewable

Propose-only access sends supported note changes to Review. Accepted changes and direct edits appear in note history with their attribution.

FROM IDEA TO USEFUL CONTEXT

Put it into practice.

  1. Add the connector

Use the Docblock MCP URL in Claude’s custom connector settings. The endpoint must be reachable over public HTTPS.

  2. Sign in and choose access

Approve the intended workspaces and the level of note access for this connection.

  3. Test a known note

Enable the connector in a conversation and ask it to list notes and read a source you recognize.

A FEW USEFUL DETAILS

Questions, answered.

Can I connect a local Docblock instance?

The custom connector needs public HTTPS because Anthropic’s servers connect to it. The guide also includes a Claude Desktop configuration using a local bridge and a Docblock token.

Does adding the connector prove it works?

No. Test it by asking Claude to list accessible workspaces and read a note you recognize. Then inspect the returned content.
