Hermes Agent integration

Give Hermes a shared place for durable context.

Connect Nous Research’s Hermes Agent to the notes you can also browse and edit in Docblock. Use remote MCP for source retrieval and choose a deliberate boundary for any changes it makes.

01

Use a documented remote setup

The agent guide includes Hermes MCP configuration, browser sign-in, and connection tests. Use the example that matches your OAuth or token workflow.

02

Start with known source material

Ask Hermes to list accessible workspaces and read a familiar note. Then use focused retrieval for a project question rather than loading every note.

03

Keep handoffs in the workspace

With the right access, Hermes can append a daily entry or propose a note update. The result remains available to people and other authorized clients.

FROM IDEA TO USEFUL CONTEXT

Put it into practice.

  1. Add the MCP configuration

Use the Hermes entry from the guide with the Docblock server URL.

  2. Authenticate and test

Complete browser sign-in or set a scoped token, then use the documented login and discovery test.

  3. Verify a note in chat

Start a fresh Hermes session or reload MCP, then confirm it can read a note you recognize.

A FEW USEFUL DETAILS

Questions, answered.

Can Hermes use a Docblock token instead of OAuth?

Yes. The guide includes a token configuration for gateways and other setups that use a Docblock authorization header.

Do I need to restart an existing Hermes session?

After changing MCP configuration, use the documented reload command or start a fresh session so the updated tools are available.
